UPCYCLE

  • Upcycle is the debut album from trumpet soloist Ashley Hall-Tighe and collaborative pianist Ana María Otamendi. This collection of transcriptions for trumpet and piano by Nathaniel Tighe honors the artists’ classical roots while presenting a vision of what might have been possible if the modern trumpet was a solo instrument at the time these works were conceived. A diverse reimagining of compositions by Bach, Sammartini, Tailleferre, Albeniz, Rachmaninoff, Clara Schumann, Sibelius, Grieg and Chopin, Upcycle showcases the substantial artistry and virtuosity of both performers and highlights the broad range of colors that are possible from this instrumental combination.
